No lock-in
You should stay because Intake is good, not because leaving is hard. Here is exactly what leaving looks like.
One export with everything
Settings → Download export gives you a zip of plain JSON and your files:
forms.json: every form with its settings, fields, spam rules and hosted pagesubmissions.json: every submission, with its data and metadatafollow_up_messages.json: your conversations with anonymous reporters. Their codes keep working when you import the export elsewhereactions.json: every action and its conditions (secrets left out)- Your uploaded files, and
files.jsonto match them up - Members, the audit log and, for encrypted forms,
vault.json
Per form, the inbox also exports CSV and JSON at any time.
Encrypted forms open without us
$ intake-cli decrypt workspace-export.zip --out submissions.json Vault passphrase: Opened 1,204 encrypted submission(s).
The free Intake CLI opens an export's encrypted submissions on your own computer, with your passphrase or recovery code, offline. The encryption is standard (ECDH P-256 with AES-256-GCM), so any language can open it.
Everything flows out as it happens
You do not have to wait for an export. Webhooks and n8n receive every submission, workspace webhooks report every event, and the API lists everything you have. If you build on those, moving away is changing one URL.
Coming back is easy too
We can restore a workspace export with its form ids intact, so forms already embedded on your sites keep working.
